Welcome to Priddy Playgroup.
We use the recently renovated Priddy Village Hall as our home.
Our Playgroup was founded in 1995 by parents in the village. We are a member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance and a registered charity. Playgroup is governed by a committee made up of parents whose children attend.
Our Philosophy
Our last OFSTED inspection said "There is a very special atmosphere to be found in this small, close community group". We believe that Priddy Playgroup provides a unique environment where children are encouraged to develop their full potential whilst also having lots of fun!
Priddy Playgroup is committed to providing equality of opportunity to all children and their families and we are keen to promote a working partnership with our parents. We aim to provide quality care and education within a safe and stimulating environment. Our activities are planned to encourage pre reading, writing and numeracy skills, developing co-ordination aimed towards the Foundation Stage Early Learning Goals, which also includes your childs first year at school.
Our Policies
Priddy Playgroup has clear views on the way individuals should be treated and the behaviour we expect from adults and children. These views are expressed in a comprehensive set of policies. Our policies are shown to all prospective parents and the policy folder and our Operational Plan are always available for any one to view at any time. We can also supply a copy of our policies and full prospectus via email or post.
Opening Times and Admissions
Priddy Playgroup currently opens on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday between 9.15 am - 11.45 am. We follow the term timetable for Priddy Primary School. Priddy Playgroup is registered with OFSTED and Social Services for a maximum of 15 children aged between 2½ and 4 years of age.
Some children settle very quickly at Playgroup and others take a little longer to begin to feel settled. Please feel free to stay with your child, if you wish, for as long as is takes for you and your child to feel happy. We do take children in nappies.
Break time
Milk is provided daily (warmed during the colder Priddy months!). We offer a selection of fruit at break time which is kindly provided by parents. Drinking water is always accessible for your child. Children will also sample foods that they have cooked or prepared as part of their activities, however we will pre-warn you to ensure that the food is acceptable to your child. We keep a list of all childrens dietary needs and allergies in the kitchen to ensure that their needs are met.

Payment Structure
Priddy Playgroup is non-profit making organisation. The fee for each session is £5.00 in advance within the first two weeks of each half term. If this is a problem we will be happy to make alternative arrangements. Fees are not refundable if your child is absent. Your child is entitled to government funded fees the term after their 3rd birthday, please ask the chair or playgroup leader for further details.
Complaints procedure
We view complaints as opportunities to learn and improve, should any parent feel dissatisfied they should approach either the Playgroup Leader or a committee member. Our complaints procedure will then be followed.
